Open Source Mac
You want to publish on the web. You don’t want to pay much, or even anything at all. What to do?
You can always look to open source software. That’s software that is not only free but gives you the source code with the program. Now, you probably don’t need the source code but it’s nice to know that the right to use the software will not be taken away. Not all free software is open source, of course. Several reputable companies offer limited feature editions of their commercial programs. Some of those are actually very good. But for now, check out the open source software for the Mac.
Open Source Mac has a current and ever expanding listing of software. The list is annotated and catagorized so you actually can tell what’s what.
Another source is Apple Developer Connection, but this tends to emphasize X11 and Terminal based offerings. Good stuff but not for the uninitiated.
